Today's reading: Matthew 10
The Word of Christ I can't help noticing is verse 16: "Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves." That's a sobering statement. But it also sends me back to my Shepherd. Though the table be set "in the presence of my enemies," I need not fear "for He is with me" (Psalm 23).
What's your Word?
What hit me today were two phrases: “fear not” and “freely give.” They seem to go together. So often I don’t give freely out of fear of not having enough -time, resources, energy. Christ tells me not to fear. To give freely is to trust him to provide all I need.
I love that connection, you're so right! If we fear not, then we'll freely give. Beautiful.
